The Secret
I've been reading about the Kabbalah philosophy. I wanted to find out what the hype was about. Was a sincere religious/philosophy or just an overinflated concept sold by people with too much money and too little conscious? I received a book (that was apparently free but this did not mean free s&h as well -- this was not clear on the "order" form... I feel gyped already...) called "The Secret" No kidding. It's suppose to tell you what The Secret is to a happy life. It's to be a giving person. You have to share yourself with others. Whether this is money or time, is irrelevant, it's the thinking process behind it that's crucial to the transformation. I didn't find this exactly mind-blowing revelation... at best a good reminder. And I don't this "transformative giving" extends to all aspects of our lives to guarantee happiness. What if you're just having a bad day at work. Where does the giving part fit in to make you feel happier? Give yourself to your work? Give yourself to your life? I'm a bit skeptical about the Kabbalah philosophy. But the more I think about it, maybe it does make sense...
